Coming up...

In my previous post I mentioned that I'd picked up an unopened copy of the old Epic 40,000 boxed set so I decided that I'm going to do one of those things I vowed I'd never do. The source of many a nerdgasm... I'm going to do an unboxing post. Yea I'm that sad. 13 years late too. The reason being that whilst I was bidding on the box set, I couldn't find any kind of comprehensive list as to what's actually in the , I found snippets here and there but nothing in one place (and I'm still not one 100% on the full contents)

Unfortunately I'm not likely to get my hands on it before this coming Tuesday so can't post about it just yet, just thought I'd give you a heads up :) (not that anyone reads this blog yet but hey ho)

In other news, the reaver titan has completed its dettol bath and will be getting put together sometime soon to join mr warhound in lording above the little guys.

The random waffling of a 30-something man-child

So, just needed some space to blather on about Game Workshop's 'Epic' range, incarnations past present and future. I've recently gotten back to epic after a long hiatus (the last time I played epic was some time in 1994 on my friends parents dining room table in some kind of epic 10,000 point-per-side slugfest) - I'm not 100% on what the appeal is exactly, maybe it's the grand scale of the battles being fought, maybe it's the imagery of titans striding into the fray, guns blazing, infantry swarming around their feet like angry insects (seriously, massive bi-pedal war machines, what's not to love?) or maybe it's just because I really can't stand painting 28mm models?

So.. this is just a place for me to post photos of work in progress, list random crap that I might think people would find useful, anything really.. as long as it's vaguely related to the epic system.

Currently my foray back into epic has gotten me:

- buying the space marine company set direct from GW
- buying the space marine character set direct from GW
- picking up an OOP warhound titan
- picking up an OOP reaver titan
- picking up an, as of yet, unopened copy of Epic 40,000

Plenty there to keep me going for a while, after that I'd like to pick up a second OOP warhound and also the newer warlord titan (never did like the old plastics for those)
